without my sweet Amanda :-( She is gone off to church camp for thee week. She so looks forward to this every year and I know she will have an awesome week with God but I always miss her. It seems I miss her a bit more each year. I think maybe because she is getting older and before I know it will be heading off to college and her life will no longer be with me.
I sent up a prayer card at church yesterday for all the Junior high kids traveling to camp and for their week there to be blessed. When talking to Pastor Marc after church I said I should have added prayers for myself also to survive my week without my "glass half full gal". she is such a blessing in my life
One of my favorite quotes..... Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away. Come on in and grab a comfy seat to share what I love......my family, my faith, and creating ways to preserve the precious memories of our lives.

Friday night scrapping!
Going on in my scrap studio tomorrow. BOTH of the twins have been invited for a sleepover at a friend's house! (Well, more Joshua's friend than Jeremy's but the parents were sweet enough to include both boys in the invitation). Anyone want to come scrap with me?

How much time do you actually spend thinking about your insurance?
Me......not so much until recently. When I was 20 and got my first car I signed up with Allstate in NY because I lived in a small town and the agent was someone I knew. When we moved to Oregon I stayed with Allstate as a creature of habit. I stopped by the local office to introduce myself to John Spencer and immediately liked him. Over the years I always felt he did a good job by me and never felt the urge to go in search of someone to give me a lower rate. Well, John recently retired and I have to say I was not so happy with his replacement. I was talked into a new policy to "save me money" and then watched my premiums climb by 5 dollars a month and then by 10 dollars a month. Calls went unreturned or were returned by the receptionist and I was basically told my premiums would continue to go up inspite of the fact that I had not changed vehicles or made any claims so I should just get used to it.
So I felt like I was being ripped off and I got mad. I googled for car insurance carriers in my town and turned up someone I know....... Austin Harvey who works with Country Financial and provides investment counseling as well as all types of insurance (although for some reason I thought he only sold life insurance) We spent some time talking about what I had and what I wanted and he sold me a better car insurance policy than what I had, added renter's insurance, AND came up with a rate that was 30 plus dollars lower than just car insurance from the company I had been with for over 20 years all the while making me feel like a very valuable customer when I know he has customers who bring in much more money than I ever will. I walked out of his office today with my new and improved coverage at a lower rate and I am happy again.
So thanks Austin :-) And if you are in the market for better coverage for lower rates you might want to give this guy a call. Here is a link to his website and contact info

what a fun crop night!
The second Friday crop night was such a blast! I got there at 2pm to set up and left at 2 am! All told we had 15 people and 3 bugs (of the Cricut kind). We had 4 ladies who joined the crop for the first time and I even got one whole page done! .......... you know me I have to keep walking around and see what everyone is doing plus I got to teach some of the new ladies some new tools and techniques. One of the ladies who took my Girl's Night Out class brought a gorgeous page to share that she did afterwards using the random stamping technique we learned in class. Also grateful to the ladies who stayed to help me put tables away and load all my stuff :-)

the place to be on Saturday June 14th
is Stillman Park. Beginning at 5pm there will be a hot dog feed and auction to help raise funds for the Seggerman family to be able to travel with their son , who was born 2 months premature, to the East Coast for a new treatment that has shown dramatic effects for children and adults with cerebral palsy. Their insurance will pay for the treatment but they will need travel and living expenses. Many area businesses have donated some wonderful things for the auction. I will be helping with dinner and also put together quite a few scrapbooking and stamping goodies and also included a free class for the winner and 9 of their friends to complete a 2 page layout or 4 card projects. Hoping to see a TON of people there

What does family mean to you?

I know I have said this before (and I'll probably
say it again) I am so thankful to have our church family in our lives. Friday was a big day in the twin's lives....... ok maybe a bit more so for Joshua than for Jeremy but big none the less.
Both of the boys got awards at the last assembly for the school year. This is the third one this year for Jeremy but Joshua has struggled a bit this year and it was his first and one he worked VERY hard for. He was successful with lots of help from his totally awesome teacher. When I realized their dad was not going to come I sent out an email to our extended church family asking that anyone who had the time come and show Joshua how proud we were of all his hard work. And come they did! My mom and our church family filled the back TWO rows on one side at the assembly and several also brought cards and gifts for the boys. They even got a phone call that night from their Godparents all the way in Montana!
Both boys are still talking about how many people showed up and how much that meant to them. My tough guy Joshua even teared up when he looked back after getting his award and saw how many people took time out of their day to be there for him.
It was an awesome example of what being part of God's family is all about and meant so much to all of us.

A totally fun day :-)
Saturday was SUCH a BLAST! I have to say there is nothing I love more than being in the middle of a large group of ladies who are crafting (I still miss the Friday night crops at the Scrapbook Station) and the creative juices were really flowing at the Girl's Day Out crop :-)
It was scheduled to run from noon to 8pm with my yummy Gooey chicken Burritos and Lorie's Oreo Ice cream desert but everyone was having so much fun we stayed later. I loved watching the ladies put their own creative twists on the layout and card projects that were provided. I wish I had remembered to bring my camera to take photos but some of them did say they would send me some to share. A couple worked on the calendar page of the month project and there were many other pages created too.
Everyone won an hourly prize drawing, Dawn and Cathy B won the surprise goodie bags and I will draw for the winner of a complete Magic Moments kit as soon as the last order is turned in.
Stay tuned for details of my next upcoming workshop "Christmas in July" hopefully to be held on the 26th.
