Let's Scrap February 2012 Blog Hop

Yay! It's time for the Let's scrap blog hop! This blog hop begins February 1st but, since I will be at work I am having to post mine a bit early :-) I am thinking you came to me from Jen Leeflang's blog. http://jencraftsa.blogspot.com/   If you did not, Mindi Brown @ http://scrapchat-n-coffeetalk.blogspot.com/ has the hop order to help you find your way.
Welcome :-) My card came from the 9-16-09 card sketch.
9-16-09
Here is how easy it is to enter for my random draw
*Be or become a member of Let’s Scrap which you can do by clicking here http://letsscrap.ning.com/ . It is free, easy and fast! Once you get there, I am sure you will love it!
*Become a follower of my blog
*Leave me a comment telling me your favorite stamping technique
And if you would like a second chance in the draw
*Make a card from the sketch I have posted and upload it to the gallery at Let’s Scrap. Please tag it as such   9-16-09, LEAP20
Please note comma space and that LEAP is all capitals.

*Leave a comment with a link to your card on Let’s Scrap.
The hop ends at 11:59 pm Central Standard time February 29th, which you would be able to track using the clock on the main page of Let’s Scrap.

My prize will be a gorgeous white chipboard "All Sorts" mini album from the Close To My Heart idea book. You can go to my website http://peggyruiz.myctmh.com/ and enter item #Z1224 to get a look at this fun album. Now here is my card from the sketch. I used retired CTMH papers; CTMH stamps, ink and chipboard elements (I love the way our white chipboard takes inking and stamping so well), and my Cricut for the layered butterfly. To add a bit of dimension, I adhered only the body of the butterfly to my card and folded the wings upward a bit. Don't forget bringing an element from your card front (and even to your envelope) as I did with the second generation stamped butterfly offset on the inside can really tie it all together :-)

Now hop on over to Sesil Cratin's blog http://sesilcratin.blogspot.com/
for more card fun and good luck :-)

I love the circle!!! How fun! I am a new follower and a LS member. I mostly stamp titles or sentiments and don't generally use any fancy techniques. Maybe something to experiment with as I make some cards this month.

I love seeing all these comments! And for those new to my blog, in an older post I did some stamping tutorials and plan to do more in the future so keep coming back :-)

Very pretty card! I've been a member of LS, and I've joined your blog =) Thanks for being a fellow host...this will be such a fun hop! I don't do much stamping so I don't have a technique to share...I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else does =)

Love your card - I have just joined your site but there may be a problem because I keep getting an error message - my favourite stamping technique is embossing - love it but don't do enough ....Thanks for the great hop

Hi Peggy. Its my first time visit here and I love it. I have become a follower here. Loving your sketch for the blog hop and your take on it is gorgeous, not to speak of the yummy candy. I do very simple stamping with rubber and acrylic stamps. I use dye inks and just ink them up and stamp onto whatever colour cardstock I am using for my project. I colour the imags with H2 pencils. Would love to see you over at www.desiref.blogspot.com in sunny South Africa.
Hugs
Desire

I have a son named Jeremy too! I love the way you did your card. the background is great. I have no fancy stamping technique, just plain old stamping for me. I need to use my stamps more and learn some new techniques though.

Katy said...

Love your card and sentiment inside! I like that kissing technique but I haven't used it a whole lot yet. Most of the time I am just trying to get an even coat of ink on my stamp :)

Hi Peggy! It is so nice to meet you here on your blog - I really like the quote at the top of your beautiful blog!!!!! Your card is awesome, too! I love how you shared the inside. It has been great stopping by and getting to know a fellow scrapper and new friend!

I love your card, so out of the box. I don't stamp often, but when I have, I stamp and then put embossing powder over for the effect.

Your card is absolutely gorgeous, Peggy! Love the soft feel to those papers and patterns, and great verse! Thanks for being a host on the card hop! I am a long-time LS member, and I have become a follower of your blog.
I am not a big stamper (although I OWN a hundred or more stamps), so I don't have a fave technique! I am trying to get better at this! Cards are a perfect medium for stamps!
I'll be back with my card link for the second chance, for sure!

Very beautiful! I don't know that I have a favourite stamping technique because I don't stamp too much! I guess it would be embossing :)

I am now a follower. Can't say I have a fav stamping technique... mainly because I don't do a lot of stamping. If I did I guess it would be embossing them... makes the stamps really come to life.

Hi Peggy! Love your card, Whoops-A-Daisy was one of my fav. CTMH papers, I did a whole album with it!
My fav. stamping technique is simply multi-generation stamping. Love the look of stamping an image and shifting it just slightly and stamping again for a shadowed look.
Thanks for being a hop host!
