sorry for the confusing post

I was a bit upset when I wrote it. The short story is before he left for Florida my ex said he was sorry and I thought he really meant it. I would like to believe that he understands the level of pain his choices caused and also that he truly is sorry for the way things ended. Unfortunately.............or maybe fortunately.............. he chose to email a friend of mine and told her a story that was totally NOT based in truth. I'm thankful she shared that email with me. I'm still not sure why it hurt me as much as it did but it also taught me a valuable lesson that I will not soon forget.

well so much for my last post

it seems once again I was fooled into believing something I just really wanted to believe but thanks to a friend I now know yet again that some people are great at going through the motions without really meaning it :-(

Saturday

and more white stuff on the ground.....can you say yuck???????

On a good note we got Rex to the airport and off on the plane to Florida. It was, of course, emotional but the kids did so much better than I thought they would. I am so proud of them!

After he finished saying goodbye to them he asked to hug me and actually said he was sorry and I believe he really meant it. I think this is the first time he has said those words to me and actually meant it. I learned a long time ago (with lots of help and wise counsel from my pastor) that I could find forgiveness for him and that I needed to do that for me and the kids but all I could think to say back to him was "me too because it didn't have to be this way........you chose it" Harsh but true.

I also wanted to say thank you to all who have taken the time to respond to my post here and to email or call me privately. Your support and prayers have been a huge help and comfort to me over these last 2 years

Today is the day

That we put Rex on the plane for Florida.

I have very mixed feelings. I am glad for him that he will be with family that can help care for him. I am sad for my children who will miss him. I am dreading the ride back home from the airport after my children say goodbye to him. I am sad that 18 plus years of marriage ended this way because of drugs. I am angry because I don't understand addiction............... I still believe he had a choice and he made the wrong one. I wish we had meant enough to him for him to be able to stop using for us. I am hopeful for my future and praying hard for my children

HOW THE CARDS ARE USED. When the cards are received by Chaplain Banks, he puts them in a central location where the soldiers can go and select a card to send to a loved one, friend/relative. The soldier selects a card, opens it, reads the message to him that we have placed on the sticky note, removes the sticky note and writes his own message to the person for whom he has selected the card and sends it on its way. So not only do we get to use up our scraps when we make these cards but we get double use out of them which really makes our time we spend making these cards really worthwhile.
