I discovered some pages on www.twopeasinabucket.com that caught my eye and touched my heart. The designer credited this site as her inspiration to both pray for her children in this way and to document it in a scrapbook

Wow! I have always thought I did a good job of covering my children in prayer and in praying for their futures but like the author of this article find myself basically praying the same things over and over. This just blew me away. I am going to begin this right away. I am also going to do as the twopeas poster did and document these prayers in a scrapbook for each of my children
One of my favorite quotes..... Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away. Come on in and grab a comfy seat to share what I love......my family, my faith, and creating ways to preserve the precious memories of our lives.

Sunday
My favorite day of the week! I so look forward to Sunday worship and always feel recharged and ready to begin another week.
Today we officially go off summer schedule which means Sunday school starts back up. Today I will be helping with the elementary aged group. Our youth pastor has totally revamped what their Sunday school will look like this year. I am excited and hope i can keep up on my crutches :-)
My torn hamstring seems to be healing.................just very slowly. I can now bend and straighten my leg if I do it very carefully but still cannot put weight on it without feeling pain and a pulling sensation. Thanks to my friend Lorie I have located a set of crutches to borrow so I can at least be somewhat mobile.

My school year so far
is not starting off so hot. I worked the first day but could barely walk. The doctor put me out the remainder of the first week and said it was sciatica. I behaved myself the entire time....... even skipped the parade Saturday and church Sunday but 15 minutes into the school day today I knew I had to get back to the doctor. Because of Round Up it was 2:15 today or not for another week so I had to take the afternoon off. Way to make a good impression on my new boss right? Not to mention I felt like a sub in my own classroom today.
Now for the new diagnosis. Are you ready for this? I apparently have a rather large tear in my hamstring. He apologised profusely for missing it last week but honestly I don't think it was his fault. My back was so locked up he didn't go any farther than examining and trying to manipulate that.
I have a pressure wrap on it and he says come back if it's not better in 2 weeks. The good news is he also said if I have it wrapped I am not doing any more damage by working on it so I am going to go to work tomorrow.
And trying to look on the bright side this is better than the initial diagnosis of sciatica because he said that would be a reoccurring problem once it happens to you and this should not be any further problem once it is healed.

flowers :-)
One of my co-workers from the new classroom I am in this year stopped by yesterday to check on me and brought me the most beautiful basket of flowers :-)
They just look so bright and cheerful and it's amazing how a small act of kindness can lift your spirits when you're down
Thanks Nenia :-)

missing the parade:-(
I have to admit we are not real big Rodeo fans here but we ALWAYS do the dress up parade. I am still in quite a bit of pain though, and more so when I walk, so we are having to skip it this year in favor of mom resting so I can hopefully get back to work on Monday.

My last nerve :-)
I used to own one of those T-shirts that said "I have one nerve left and you are stepping all over it". That pretty much sums up how I feel right now. The meds are kicking in and I am pretty loopy but so far not a whole lot of difference in my pain level and sometimes my leg gets a mind of it's own and starts jumping around and that makes it hurt worse. I am behaving and resting as much as possible so I can get back to school on Monday

The official diagnosis
Sciatica and severe lumbar strain :-(
I am on bedrest with major pain killers and muscle relaxers and out of work until Monday. Also got yelled at by the doc for trying to tough it out and work yesterday but at least he gave me credit for not being dumb enough to do it again today.

first day back to school
I know I had some doubts. i loved my title job and the people I worked with in the title room but I can already tell I am going to LOVE my new job just as much. Love the head teacher and the ladies I work with and the kids are all awesome with so much potential.
The kids all had great days also and it was awesome to hear them talking about them after school.
Now my sad news. I have a pinched sciatic nerve. I thought I could get through school and be fine but by the end of the day I was in so much pain I could barely walk. I have a Dr. appointment Wednesday and have taken a sick day. I am praying he can do something to help get me back on my feet as quickly as possible.
