I have been asked to be a contributing blogger for the Scrapping 4 Inclusion blog http://scrapping4inclusion.blogspot.com/

Many of you may remember my talking about trying to organize a fundraiser crop in Pendleton. I was thrilled when I discovered this organization that combines scrapbooking with creating awareness of children with special needs and raising funds for the Buble/Aiken foundation (started by American Idol star Clay Aiken and Dianne Bubel... the mom of the autistic student Clay worked with). The goal of the Bubel/Aiken Foundation is to provide funds for the extra support that children with disabilities need to be able to be included in activities that most children take for granted like attending a summer camp.

I have been asked, along with several others) to contribute to the blog weekly. So there should be a brand new post every day. These post can range from layouts and cards to technique or project tutorials. Be sure to check it out! Also check out how you can become an event organizer. Laurie has done all the "work" of creating donation and organization forms and has secured many awesome companies ready and willing to donate products for an all day fundraising crop

The Boy Who Grew Flowers

A most awesome book I purchased from my friend Gail http://gailnelson.mybarefootbooks.com/
I purchased this for my autistic son for Christmas last year. Barefoot Books are excellent quality with the most amazing and colorful artwork. Without giving away the entire story this particular story is about a boy who grew flowers ...... out of his head! He is quite embarrassed and tries to hide this fact about himself that makes him different from everyone else until one day he meets THE girl.... obviously chosen for him..... and discovers this unique trait that he was embarrassed about is what makes him so special to someone else.
Jeremy treasures this story. He reads it often and has brought it to school to share with his classmates. (Our school counselor loved it too and ordered one to use in her talks at the beginning of each school year where she talks to the children about how everyone is different and that is ok.) He says it helps him remember that God made him special :-)

Almost Friday! and Stampganza!

I made it through 2 days back to school. I am tired but getting a little stronger each day. My amazing church family has continued to provide meals for a few days after my return to work and it has been such a blessing not to have to worry about cooking dinner :-)

And tomorrow is Friday. I am totally ready for the Girls Night Out crop on the 31st. All the make and takes are prepped and ready to go and I still have 2 open spots if anyone else is interested. I think I will spend most of my long weekend in my scrap studio playing with fun new papers and stamps from CTMH to make some more demos and get those creative juices flowing. I love when I have time to just play with no specific project in mind or deadline to meet.

I am also going over my stamp wish list again because they just announced that Stampganza is back as the June special campaign. Buy 2 stamps sets and get a third free! I shared the news and already my June calendar is filling up quickly. It's a great month to hostess as well as to shop :-)

Adding my boys

It dawned on me today that I have posts that spotlight my 2 daughters but none spotlighting the twins so thought it might be time to fix that. These are not new layouts but they are some of my favorites featuring Joshua and Jeremy. the baby pics were done when they were just 2 weeks old (and 3 weeks before their due date). The more recent ones were a little photo shoot we went on last fall.

I knew the moment I saw this Simple Pleasures paper pack from CTMH that I wanted to reprint these photos in sepia tones to use with it. The layout designed is based on a sketch from page Maps and I kept things very simple to focus on the photos. I enlarged my favorite to 8x12 to be the focal photo and printed the accent photos in wallet size.

And this layout uses the Caprice paper pack. I loved the colors and wanted to show that flowered prints can also be used for masculine pages. This layout is based on the Dynamic Duos sketch in the Cherish book and also features lots of stamping using Legendary Moments and Lovely Buckles. Under the hinged 5x7's is a letter to each son detailing what I loved most about him at age 8.

Monday, Monday

And still no school for me. I am finally on the mend and WBC count is finally responding to the mega anitbiotics. I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday and am going in with the attitude that he will release me to return to work Wednesday. I have taken more drugs......of the prescription kind :-) ....... in the last 2 weeks than I think I have in my whole life. Hoping to be done with most but thinking the BP meds and the breathing treatments might be around to stay

Happy Mother's Day

As some of you may know I had a pretty scary few days of it health wise. I was admitted into the ICU Friday night and spent 2 days in the hospital. We are still not exactly sure what caused my little medical crisis but are treating the long term ramifications and I am out of work they say at least 2 weeks but I really can't afford that so I am trying to be good and get back sooner. I have $100.00 worth of new medications (AFTER insurance paid their part) and I am just so glad to be able to be home with my children for mother's day. Also so very grateful to my mom and dad and friends and church family who stepped up and took care of business and children for me so I could concentrate on just trying to get well and get home

Sharing some exciting news..... a TOOT as we say in the scrappy world

I just received notice that I was one of 4 sister CTMH consultant to be selected as the new Design Team for a consultant blog for a group that also runs a virtual convention for those unable to attend the in real life one.My first assigned area will be sketches, both for cards and layouts. We all know how much I LOVE to use sketches (I also enjoyed my term as a DT member for Lucy Chesna's sketch blog last year) and I am ready to have fun with this.

Sneak Peek at make and takes

A peek at the rest of the projects we will be making at my National Scrapbook Day Crop tomorrow. The 4th is the one at the top of my sidebar which is done with the new Whoops A Daisy papers and random stamping using "Star Struck". The 9x9 layout in the jumbo clothespin uses the new Sarsparilla papers and the "Thing of Beauty" stamp set. The layout uses papers from the Paper Garden Level 1 and Level 2 packs. The card is using another new stamp set (I think a new one n my top ten list) called "Spot On Backgrounds". Every patterned element on this card is created with the stamps from this set. I just LOVE it!
